Hi everyone,
I just thought I would share my kart since I have nothing to do.
So I bought it back in June from the classifieds for $180 bucks.
The guy told me the rod was gone but there was no damage to the block and it was making compression. I got it home and cleaned the carb and it ran like a champ. I then started to clean up the kart and repaint it. I used super remover and an angle grinder with sanding discs to get it to bare metal. I then did about 3 coats of primer then painted it red. I used black to do basically everything else. I then assembled it and rode it. Im currently using a bicycle spedometer right now but it cuts out anything past 50 kph. My future mods include removing the back wrest, all the covers, removing the govener, advanced timing, 18lbs springs, custom pipe, air filter with adapter, gx140 e tube, correct jet, billet rod/flywheel, and an auto lite 3910 spark plug.

Thanks for veiwing and always be safe when using tools and certain liquids.

That's a good price for what it is, nice score

Pfft, amateurs...

It worries me that you've been going fast enough to know that...

That's impressive. Could well be the first single cylinder engine in history to blow a connecting rod and still make compression! :roflol:

Cool kart you got there, looks like it was a former concession kart. Nice job cleaning it up. Too bad about the bike speedo cutting out. A few years ago, I wound my kart right out on a long downhill stretch, and the speedo kept reading at my top speed of 82Km/h- so I guess it had no limit. Maybe you can replace it with a better one.

Not by much.... Magneto-driven engines require special tachs- OR you can pony up for a diesel-ready tach, OR electronically alter an automotive tach. No easy AND cheap solution.
