Must I place clutch/small sprocket above the big one?

Hello, I have a gx160 go-kart and the shaft is not directly above the big sprocket. I would only need a longer chain correct?? Also how can i mount the clutch to the output shaft of a pressure washer gx160.

If that engine has a tapered shaft, you wont be attaching a clutch or much of anything else except a pressure washer. If it is not tapered then you need to buy a clutch of the correct size.

It is not tapered.

Does the small sprocket need to be directly above the other one.

Not directly above, but directly in line.lay a straight edge between ‘em . The chain has to run straight and perpendicular (sp) to the axle and output shaft.
