So I stripped down the frame of the Murray.
I have someone who is going to do a weld repair but the question is will it work. I have an idea.
.
In the pics I show you the crack which looks like a prior weld job.
I compared this frame to the carter frame and I am wondering if where I marked with a red bungie if we weld a flat piece of one inch wide steel across the 3 beams if it will hold it together and prevent further cracks. What do you all think? I can see the problem here is the weight of this frame seems about 130pds no rider.

That should have been sleeved. But it wasn't.

Have your welder buddy inspect the rest of the frame, his eye would probally see things you might not.

From the pics it's hard to give exact directions but,
Look at where the frame broke and imagine how the forces over came structural integrity of the design. Then brace in the proper direction.

It looks like the lower frame rails broke before the axle tube? Sorry I'm not familiar with Murray's.
I would be looking into bracing to the top rail somehow. Build triangles.

On the brake-

Yes the left side tube cracked on the top part in a slight angle.
My thought is with the added steel on the bottom the support would solve the issue after the repair weld. I did notice the kart was missing a rear steel piece on the rear of frame so wonder if that could have contributed. thanks
