To start I picked this cart up from a guy on CL for 60.00.
Had a dead 6.5 Tecumseh power sport, broken live solid axle
and guy delivered it to my house, no charge for mouse nest in engine.
Took me almost 4 months to get it all done.
Clutch was rotted rusted to the old engine shaft so bad I hacked it off.
Had a cracked frame welder fixed it see my other posts. Welder stopped at my house 25.00 welded it like a champ.
Engine found from CL off an old power washer 6.5hp briggs intek. 20.00 carb had a leaking bowl float another 10.00.
Solid axle drove over to the local steel mill and 7.00 got a solid axle.
found another person on CL picked up rims with tires 7.00.

other costs pain etx probably 50.00. total investment $175.00
soft sanded with my rotary sander and two coats of paint later what do you think? I drove it now about 6 times it eats the pavement with traction.
Also as a bonus I mounted the storage bin for beers and designed a silencer as this thing was loud.

Thanks-
it was a bit of work revising that ceased clutch but had to try.
clutch locks up a bit too soon and is spreading glitter if it gets too hot.
I don't think its gonna last too much longer but it is working lol.
This thing was heap when I got it.

I didn't run the ratio but it has no problems moving up hills etc.
Well It can probably use oil its been ran about 2 hours total probably by now.
I will add the oil and try. I oiled it up nicely on reassembly and even tried the vid on you tube greasing the back plate. It did stop locking but when it got hot started again. Its a Max torque.
Looks like a 41 chain as it has big links.

Thanks I played around with a lot of ideas until I got it right.
In case you wonder the silencer cut about half the rumble down.
Its a soda can base. I cut off the base as its thicker then drilled a few holes and it acts like a perfect
additional chamber and just fit somehow perfect.

What size are those foam tubes if you don't mind me asking? I just got the same Murray Nitrox go kart from someone and I'm looking to repaint and do maybe a neon yellow/green and gray color scheme to my kart

Pipe insulation is a bit on the light side for padding. It's good for protecting against smacking your head getting in and out. Pool noodles are a better option for actual impact padding, and come in a variety of colors. Just slice them down one side with a razor and zip tie it in place.

Thanks I was thinking the same thing about the pool noodles
