I am no mechanic, I'm just a Mom of two boys who really want their go karts running. So, I've jumped in feet first...now I think I'm lost :) I have a Murray Kilowatt and a Murray Explorer go kart. I purchased 2 HF Predators to replace the original motors with. The Explorer swapped out perfectly. I put the new motor on the Kilowatt today and am now stuck.
Here is the problem when I tighten the bolt on the upper part of the belt assembly, the pull start will not pull. If I loosen it, the motor will start and run, but the belt will not engage. (I know it must be tight, was just troubleshooting). I am certain I put it together the same way as the Explorer....What could be the problem? Please help and Thanks in advance.

You can delete posts ...but not threads...moderators have to do that....but they can also just move them if need be...but we're not so stiffed necked here that asking one question while introducing yourself is a problem...

Sounds like that shorter Predator shaft is biting you...someone here will help...I don't have enough personal experience to feel comfortable responding...

there sould be a copper bushing that slides on the shaft. this helps it spin over when you pull the engine pull start.
also your belt may have set for a long time where it is just to stiff. try soaking the drive blet in hot water for about 20min.
