Recently started on my Kilowatt build this week and I feel like I’m off to a decent start.View attachment IMG_6502.jpeg
I started off by removing the tired old Tecumseh and the roll cage to start prepping it for paint.

I’m undecided on the color scheme yet, but I’m leaning towards like a WRX Blue with gold or bronze wheels or going with a lime green and black cage, I want it to be loud and gaudy looking.
I started stripping some parts and found out that all my tires are busted and dry rotted bad(I have some SUNFs in my Amazon cart) and my LR wheel has actually been broken at the hub and both my front shocks are bent, likely all from it being jumped. Old seatbelt mechanism was completely locked up so I’m going to go either 4 or 5 point harness and I’m going to try to find some foam or something similar to cushion and maybe upholster the seat.

Couple hours in the shop (my open car port) and I got about 1/3-1/2 the frame sanded and primed. If anyone has any custom painted kilowatts I’d love to see them as well. I also wouldn’t mind some help sourcing some stuff like; a harness, rear wheels, shocks all around, and possibly an easy way to convert it to rack and pinion and hydraulic brakes. I’m no fabricator by any means, but I can usually make two pieces of metal stick together if I’m lucky
. It'll be slow goings for a while, but I’ll try to keep updating this post as I go along and I’m more than happy to take constructive criticism or advice if anyone has any to share. Thanks for reading!
