We have a predator 212 on a Batman 200 appears to be a 30 series torque converter they were riding for about an hour and a half the belt shredded going up a hill out of the retention field it was an old belt so we replace the belt with a brand new one . They do some riding and hit the same hill and it shredded again after riding for a half hour maybe?? I’m ordering quality belts they will be here soon but could it just be the hill too steep? Or do I have a bigger issue? It’s new to us but used please help my kids are devastated I am attaching photos

Just a side note from past employment of mine that manufactures vehicles with T.C. units. Lining up those sheeves is kind of a very critical area to minimize that exact issue. They actually use laser tooled fixturing for alignments of the drive group. Complex yes but even with that those belts are still problematic at times for some models. Alignment is very critical. Just some extra insight for you.

Orientation is correct. Hard to tell from camera angle, but in all but the last picture it looks like there is an offset between the driver and the driven. A good
12" steel ruler is what I use to line up the two inner sheves. Alignment is critical. Hardware store washers in most cases are too thick to get it dead on.
OMB Warehouse ( and most major kart supply shops ) sell shim kits that are much thinner and you can get them lined up perfectly. Comet brand belts are the very best. A hill should not cause the belt to shred UNLESS the gear ratio is too high. How tall are the rear tires? How many teeth on the axle sprocket? A 10 tooth sprocket driving a 60 tooth axle sprocket should climb darn near anything with tires up to 19".

Did you disassemble the clutches and clean them and lube with fresh graphite powder only? No greases or oils are ever to be near the clutches.

I have taken it apart and I got the dry lube. I did notice the ring. I think it’s a bearing. It’s like a little bronze circle is jammed into the clutch like it’s stuck so this might be our problem. I’m thinking.

The ring being stuck is a problem but new ones are available. GoKart Supply, Go Powersports should have the replacement part for only a few bucks. It’s made out of bronze.
Reassure the kids were in this with you to get it fixed as soon as possible.
