Mudhead 208r Wont shut off with the Key

Hello. As the title says the Kart won't shutoff with the key. I bought a new key and it still won't shut off. I have to turn off the gas to turn it off which is ok but more annoying foe me to keel turning jt off for mg kids. The fuse is good. Also there is an on off switch on the motor as well that won't turn it off. Any suggestions? I don't want to keep throwing parts at it. Not sure what to do next?

The switch on engine should have 1 wire to ground, anywhere on engine block is fine, and the other going to the coil.

If the ground is still hooked up, pull the blower housing off and check the wire to coil is still hooked up.

There should be an engine stop button in the dash to shut the engine off. That or the ignition key should kill the engine. Take the screws out from under the dash, lift it up and check for wires pulled away from the key switch terminals or the engine stop button. Swapping keys won't help, the key only sends power to the start button (if equipped) or the starter solenoid if the engine cranks from the key switch.

If the on/off switch on the engine itself isn't working I would check the wire bundle at the front of the engine. That switch should connect directly to the engine coil wire coming out of the shroud. If it isn't working, the switch wire may have pulled out of the bundle/harness.
