I just put mine together. I drilled a hole in the throttle lever and used a bicycle gear shift cable. I attached it using brake hose clamps. I will try to pst a pic.

Here is my set up. I put an extra spring for the throttle return . It is circled in black and the other side is attached to the cover over the muffler. I drilled a 1/8" hole in the muffler cover.
I circled in orange where the throttle cable attaches to the throttle. it is a small hole I drilled there also. I used a clamp there to hold the cable. I forget what they call it (it's a barrel that a screw goes into and it clamps down on the cabe). The outr jacket is held down by a small break clamp . It is circled in orange also. There was a hole there allready if I remember correct.

The AGK kit that devino246 linked to works great. I just got done doing mine with the AGK kit and had it installed and running in no time flat. Well worth the purchase.

i had my brake cable and a couple pieces from my old vex robotics kit and bent a piece to an "L" shape and put the cable through and you take of the air filter cover, theres a spot with a hole thats coming off from under the gas tank and another hole on the opposite side of the throttle lever wich i bolted it to. no drilling required. parts used:
!-piece predrilled metal bent to an L
2 screws
2-keps nuts
4-washers
throttle cable
EXTREMELY simple on the harbor frieght engines
