Mounting a 212 on a Tony Kart.. Engine mount help.

IS there a clamp style engine mounth where i can adjust how far OUT away from the seat i can sit the motor? Because with how i have to set the engine the motor has to be offset from the rails it cant sit on top of them or there will be clearance issues. I need the clamps to be on the rails but the PLATE needs to be shifted to the RIGHT ( if your standing behind the Kart) so the shaft and clutch have clearance.

Farthest side to see one I've seen is this one.........

I would mount engine with this and then remount seat after. Which is what I always do on my shifter kart stuff.

None are.

1. You unbolt the seat and mounts.
2. Then set seat where you need it
3. Rebolt mounts back to close and touch seat
4. Then redrilled holes in seat and put bolts back in.
5. Presto seat moved and clears engine.

This is why most race kart seats look like Swiss cheese.

depending on the chassis you have exactly it won't help at all!

you might be able to move the engine far enough to sit and mount a clutch, but then the chain will hit the third bearing!

That's a two stroke chassis for sure, and not really made to accomodate a rather large 4stroke engine like that
(especially not since the PTO is on the wrong side of the enigne for that chassis )


Good luck though, but chances are you need to find a four stroke chassis in the first place (or a two stroke engine that is )

Itsid's reply has a really good point about the difference between 2-cycle and 4-cycle racekart frames.
The big problem with many 2-cycle frames is the angled rear crossmember not leaving enough clearance for a sprocket located inboard of the 3rd axle bearing, you'r pics don't show this crossmember...

You really need to post another pic of the back of your kart, so we can give you better advice. We need to see a pic without the engine or motor mount, and from the same angle as this pic I've posted here, so we can see the frames rear crossmember to axle clearance, and also see the locations of your seat mounting struts.

The rear crossmember of this racekart leaves plenty of room to instal a sprocket inboard of the 3rd axle bearing, we need to know how many inches of clearance your kart has in that location...
