Hi all, new to this forum, I am interested in building a motorised esky and as I work at a hardware store that sells line trimmers I would have easy access to cheap line trimmer engines. Is it possible to run two line trimmer engines to centrifugal clutches and then a chain drive to seperate rear axles with seperate throttle pedals, one for each side?
If possible does anybody have a rough idea of the speeds this may be capable of, I am only aiming for 10-15 mph or 16-24 kmh?

I don't believe a weed wanker engine has enough torque to do what you want. First they are meant to scream at 5-7000 RPM or something like it and second they don't have the power to move anything over 50 lbs. I'd suggest using a different engine. Possible 50cc minibike engine you can buy them used for 50-100 bucks.

Based on the terminoligy you've used, I'm guessing you're either Aussie or Kiwi?

Unfortunately, felineman is correct; although, back in the '60s, McCullogh had a range of very successful go karts which ran on their 50cc chainsaw engine so, I can't see why two 33cc engines wouldn't do the job...

However, having two engines on separate shafts with separate throttle controls could see you going in circles... literally!

That price is actually a bit steep for a clone, not to mention, Star Products are in Perth so, the freight will kill you...
