i think your doing a good job seeing as you were planning to only buy the front end, the back end can kinda be however you want it to be. thats how it woulda been if u made it yourself.

sorry big but i agree that you should make it more boxy like blue suggested. itll give it more of a minibike feel and itll make this project unique instead of just an engine being put into a frame.

I must agree with it having more of a minibike feel this way. I think it might also be easier for me in the long run to do.

Landuse is there any stamping, writting or markings on your front wheel?

I will have a look for you when I get home Bighead. I can't think off the top of my head if there was or not.

Edit: I just had a look at some of my pics, and it looks like there might be something on the right hand side of the rim, just next to the fork in the pic. The left side doesn't have anything. I will check when I get home though.

I have been doing some searching for a rear wheel, and i think I might have found something close to me. This guy is selling the pitbike (non runner) for about $110, or parting it out. I think I am maybe going to ask if I can get the rear wheel and the hydraulic brake setup on the rear wheel.

Is there anything else that you would suggest I ask for. Twist grip, foot pedals etc

How about getting the whole swing arm? This way you do not have to sweat how your going to hook up the rear wheel and brake mounts. Just fab that swingarm into your frame.

Also talk him down and get the whole thing. I see fenders and controls that your going to need. figure how much is that stuff going to cost you to get your bike running. Then make offer from there. It's even got the shock you need?

If you had both of those bikes. You could really come up with a plan. Perhaps use this frame and box that out like you wanted. You could have two tanks. Just have a valve to fill you bottom tank from the top tank.

Offer him $60 for all of it. Are the front and rear tires the same size? And same size as yours? Front tire looks okay. But back tires is near gone. Something to consider of your going to get a new tire. More money right?

Like I said I love poping ideas siting on the fence watching. Or get these parts and bend up your own custome frame. Might be less work in the long run.

I also forgot all about your jack shaft. LOL Changes things huh?

I just called the guy and offered just to take the frame off his hands. He said that he has some people coming to look at the bike over the weekend which are interested in buying the whole thing. ****!!!!!

All I really want off the thing are the wheels and the brakes. I just don't have the $110 to get the whole thing. Hmmmmm.....

Thanks Bighead. I am not too sure if the tyres are the same size as the one that i have, but i think they might be. I could be wrong, but I think they are 10" tyres. I saw what you meant about the rear tyre being worn. I took that pic of the writing on my rim for you. It doesn't really say much.

I was thinking of maybe figuring the swingarm in. I have so much more to plan before I actually really get going here.

Like you say, there is so much stuff on that bike that I could use. I just hate the fact that there are some people that might get it before me. I just don't have the money to get the whole thing, and I really don't need the engine. He says its all there, but it probably isn't.

I am also going to use the seat bracket from my frame (in the first pic) if I continue the line of the original frame (angled). If I just go out straight, I woun't need it. I probably wont get a chance to work on this thing until next weekend, cos this weekend I am going to be away.

Any more ideas would be appreciated

Ha ha. I left him a real tear-jerker message, saying that it is for my daughter, and that she has always wanted a bike but we have never had the money for it. Hopefully he falls for it.

I was able to get hold of the guy selling the pit bike on gumtree. He says that I can get the bike without the motor for $60. I am going to get it after work tomorrow. I am so glad that he didn't sell it over the weekend. I think he was just bluffing when he said that there were lots of people that were going to come and look at it.

I will post some pics as soon as I get it.

Yeah!!!

Just saved lots of money if you think about it? Make sure the brakes are all there. You can fix them but they should be complete.

Also find out the make and model if he knows. This save you time when you make need brake pads and what not.
