True Dat! But l’ve spent a day and a half + 20 bux fabbing a part just to save 10 bux.
l’m purdy sharp when it comes to finances!
You can save even more when you go pull metal out of the high-school welding shop's scrap bin. Most of the metal I use comes from there. I also have a giant bin of misc bolts nuts and washers. If I needed to make risers I could just find everything I need in my shop and build it without spending any money in 30 minutes. That's 30 bucks saved and I only have to wait 30 minutes to put it on rather than a week of shipping.

I built up a fine looking pile of scrap metal through the years of dumpster diving.
Fair warning: You do have to be on your toes and stay aware of the markets.
When scrap prices are down, many places have to pay to haul away worthless scrap and are fine with folks reducing the pay by weight costs by scrounging some of it.
When scrap prices go up, some places will switch up overnight from a help yourself policy to a theft and trespassing policy.
