I picked up this sand dog a couple weeks ago, it had the 6.5 hp Baja engine, now being a 400+ pound kart plus my fat belly and if I want to take the wife along with me, now were pushing 800 lbs total. Would the 212cc predator still work with the 30 series TC, or should I go with the 301cc, with the 30 series. . I won't be bashing if the wife is with me, but all off road no asphalt plus hills.

Hands down, get the 40 series TC and a big engine.

You can always let up on the throttle. It's such a let down when you have it floored and you have no mo go

I haven't really searched much but do they make a upgrade kits for the 301cc Harbor Freight engine like they do for the 212cc. I'm at work walking around my property so I don't have time to really search I figure I just asked on here real quick

I'm trying to stay away from the bigger motors, just to avoid buying the 40 series, TC, but we will see.

Even the 40 series Chinese clones aren't that expensive anymore. They can be had on eBay for ~$200 with the back plate and ~$140 without. Free shipping on both.

It's definitely pricier than the $57 TAV2, but you're already looking at dropping a few hundred on an engine... Might as well get the most out of it.
