I have a 36V 500W motor hooked up to a Chinese made motor controller, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a pedal throttle to work with it. I've heard that a Hall Effect sensor would work, but I was wondering where to get a sensor that could work, and how I would make a pedal out of it. I was also thinking of maybe using a 5K ohm sliding potentiometer connected to the pedal (I'll weld one together) via aircraft cable and a spring to pull it back. Any thoughts? Also, an aside, but for the motor controller, do I need a power switch that can handle 36V or is the controller wired such that it's only 12 or 24V running through the switch? (The batteries are on their way, otherwise I'd hook them up and just measure it.) Thanks!
