Motor / Battery Selection

Hey guys,
I'm trying to build my first go kart totally from scratch. I need to find a motor and battery that will work for me. Heres my general plans:
- The frame will be made of 1/2in steel pipe, both welded and using fittings.
- It will be 350 lbs with me in it TOPS.
- It will have 3 (12v) batteries in line, or 2 (24v) batteries in parralel. Whichever provides the best power for cheapest.
- It will have a 24v motor.

I need help getting a motor and batteries. I want the cheapest components you know of (used or new) that will provide OK preformance. I'm open to any suggestions as well. Thanks!

EDIT: How would this be for a motor? Boehm .18 hp Motor on Ebay

Wouldn't 3 - 12volt batteries in series give you 36 volts?

The motor looks a little puny to me but I don't really know. You're pretty light so maybe......

Yeah, I want to overvolt it. I'm 150 lbs, and I want to get it to around 15-20mph.

I personally recommend going with a higher voltage....From experience with an electric bike last year, 36v will almost always beat out 24v due to the current draw advantage. Weight killed our chances of winning an event, we had nearly 40aH of lead batteries on board for 24v and we only just stood up against the 18aH 36v bikes. We had nothing on the hills.
