It's not even Feb yet, and I got some decent airtime this morning from this guy as I was on my way to feed the chickens, and put some stuff in storage.
Fortunately, these thing come with a built in alarm, and when you hear it, there's no question about what it is.

I wasn't prepared for this at this time of year. After I went five feet in the air, and fifteen back without touching the ground, I headed quickly to the house while the pan still remained in mid air.

I grabbed my gopro, and my trusty six shooter, loaded with snake shot, and dispatched this little feller.

I always use my Ruger single six with .22 shotshells to dispatch unwanted snakes.

Haven't required a second shot yet.

You know, you can say all the bad things you want about us having actual winters and snow and the like, but at least we don't have snakes in January. The only snakes we have near my house are little garter snakes and the occasional bull snake, but no venomous ones.

I've heard said that a helicopter ride, and a stay at Banner PHX will run well amok of a quarter mil.

I used to try and relocate them, but after hearing that quote, I just can't be bothered with rattlers.
