I have a 212 Pred on a Murray frame. I don't know what model it is, but we've had it a couple years after we bought it from someone.

Today I changed the driven tire(that was a pain in the butt!) with a new turf tire. I filled it then let out some air for increased traction. It does bite a little better than with the old tire, but it still will lose traction pretty easily in 2-3in of grass. Is there anything else I can to to increase the traction?

Get rid of the one tire fire and go to a live axle setup. Other than that, you are not gonna get a really aggressive tire for a small wheel.

Reminds me the tire size is 15x6.00-6. Is there a link I can go to learn more about live axles and gokarts?

EDIT: So I've done a bit of research on live axles. I don't think I gonna go that direction. I can't weld and I don't want to get that deep into karting(yet).

Can u fit some small atv tyres to the back

That'll give u more grip but may cut the ground up a bit, if u are driving on your lawn

Larger diameter rear tires might help, but will tend to reduce acceleration once you get traction. But top speed will increase, same as changing the gearing.

Because of the design of the frame, the absolute largest tires I could fit would be 15x6.00-6. Maybe some 16" tires if I took of a couple things.

Turf tires are made to not tear up the lawn. They are for slow moving vehicles ie; lawn mowers, onrelatively flat land. You need an off road tire not a turf tire.

I'm not sure what size your rim is, but if it's 6" a set of these should give you all the traction you need.

Thanks, but no thanks. I have the turf tires and am looking for something with a bit more bite.
