So i have a GY6 engine on my DN150 Baja. It runs for awhile fine then once it warms up it sputters and wants to stall. Once i press the break for awhile it stops with the sputtering and jerking. Will try and upload a video of the noise.

Yea good idea with the video, could be a whole host of things.. Intermittent problems are the worst!

Has to be a carburetor problem.. Are all the gaskets for the intake in good shape? Could you pull the spark plug and post a pic? I think reading that might help..

Got a new carb when i bought it and put a new spark plug a few months ago as well.

Ok Duck so you have compression obviously, and you have spark at least most of the time, so fuel delivery has to be the issue.. Not saying for sure because there's always other possibilities. lolz
When you open the throttle all the way (when you aren't moving) it gives the engine more air with less suction (ruins the mixture temporarily) so my best guess is a jet issue.. OR, since you just replaced the carburetor there could be a vacuum leak somewhere :/
Mess around with the carb and tell us what jet you put in there or if it's the stock one, plz
:D

It's the stock jet. When it does that putting it starts to smell more like gas so maybe getting to much gas but the mixture screw is turned clockwise twice already.

Is that the fuel line under the tank in you vid ???if so there are serious bubbles in it at the beginning when its sputtering then when full of fuel no bubbles when it starts to run better at the end.

Start from the fuel tank and check everything from fuel cap vent to the carb it wont take long.

If you think something is OK/good VERIFY it don't just think it.

Our buggy with the GY6 was doing something similar to yours when I first got it back together and running.

it would start easy and purr like a kitten and run around from 4 to 15 minutes then sputter and die, let it sit a few minutes same thing but the longer it sat the longer the rides - HMMM.
so I tore into it starting from the fuel supply, fuel-yep, vent in fuel cap-hmm sort of....wait nope half the rubber vent body is in the tank, dig that out try again, same thing, runs a short time then sputters out.

ran it until it died then quickly pulled the fuel line from tank and let fuel run out, it ran good for a few seconds then slowed way down to a drip.

So there was a blockage from the tank-fuel fitting took the tank off and poured out the fuel into a clean container and took a close look at the fuel line fitting and found the little ball that they use to keep fuel from running out the vent in the event of a rollover.

It has ran great ever since.

Well thank you for all the info. I'll check everything when i have time too. The air bubbles in the fuel line been there since i got it so i'll check that out. Probably best if i get a new petcock like the one it originally had on it then the one i have now.

Been pretty cold here but i'll show the carb when i can. Also bought the petcock that's suppose to go on the tank so going to install that and see how it runs. If it still gives me problems then will check the carb and post picture here.

Will be doing that on Saturday then run it to see if it still gives me problems and if it does then will check eberything on the carb again. Hopefully i can get it running again. Hot enough weather here in Arizona to go riding again:)
