sure does look that way, id cut the bar and extend it, or cut it out before the upturn, then cover the cut and slide the engine back

Nope. Remove exhaust and put a straight pipe on it. Put a real carb on it. This will give you the room to move engine back. And you get some hp gain.

well, i do see a little welder you have in the background. This seems like the perfect excuse to do a little cutting and welding if needed to slide the engine back. Just my 2 cents. :)

lol, You have a good eye, I was hoping not to have to do any cutting/welding, but i do have the cheap HF welder i haven't used yet. What is the best way to get a clean cut on the frame?

Do you guys think that back bar is essential to frame stability? It connects to the roll bar (See pics).

Any links for the carb and pipe? I'm not sure that's going to get me enough clearance since the head is almost hitting the rear bar as well.

So i bought the mouting plate, and it seems to work, i didn't follow the instructions so it ended up being harder than it should have (drilled holes didn't line up exactly).

Anyhow, i mounted the motor and then i put the chain on (had to take 2 links out of the old chain), but now it seems too slack (see pics). Is there any tensioner i can put on the predator, or some way to tighten it? There really no way to adjust the engine now that it's mounted and since it's so snug.

Maybe i can try to take one link out and umount the engine and tilt it to get it on.

Any ideas?

Put some washers or something between the engine and mounting plate to raise it up just a touch. It doesn't look really that bad, it could just be a tiny bit tighter.

The way the mounting plate works, you have to take off the whole engine to put a washer on, because the bolts cannot be removed from the bottom. I should not have torqued everything down yet... :(

Thanks everyone, low torque problem gone. The only issue now is the seat is as far forward as it goes, but i don't think i can do anything about that without cutting off the back of the frame as suggested by others.

Thanks again.
