I live alone with the exception of my two dogs, I want to take them with me on the kart. That's why I got it, to explore the desert with my dogs.

In doing so, my German Shepherd went under the passenger side grab bar and was sitting up front, kind of like sticking her head out of the window of a car while it's in motion, but for her whole body. I did not like her in that area, as her movement is restricted.

So I got this idea, to cut the grab bar off, and re- angle and weld it to reinforce the steering wheel perch, which I did, and it worked very well. see picture.

Next I will probably weld in a bar on the passenger side so they are enclosed better on that side.

I think you are going to have to put in a loop or angled tube, as that by the looks of things helps reinforce the perch of the front springs.
I reckon itll bend like a taco when you hit a good bump.

you also need to grind that cut-off section smooth, maybe cap it.
You also wouldn't want her tail to get stuck in the steering mechanism or get entangled in the coil over (and pinched on the next bump)

So all in all.. buy some rabbit wire and build a small cage to protect the dogs.

sure, mud and rain.. a wet dog after a walk and the plywood will rot, the foam will soak and stink and the result will be discusting ;)

but other than that... :D

Excellent point. I hadn't noticed that. I will weld a brace in there as soon as I can.

You should smell wet wolf, you'll be happy with wet dog smell after smelling a wet wolf. I actually don't mind it but it's much stronger than a dog.

Nowhere did he say he had a wolf, just that they're more odoriferous. I see reading comprehension is not your strong suit. :rolleyes:

Well for the first 30 years I've been on this planet I shared my life with german shepards,
And in case you wonder.. they were family members not pets;
they sleep in the house; my dogs even had their own couch.
(corduroy was not the brightest idea though :D)
so I have a good idea what a wet one smells like ;)
Although mine got to see the bathtub occasionally it was still unpleasant.

The only wolfs I ever encountered seemed to be dry'ish (although it was raining that day) not nearly as wet as I was (or my dog)
it's been a wildlife compound and there was a fence of course..
but still my first concern wasn't their smell;
I don't know what my dog barked.. but it was surely offensive :eek:
so as they packed up -angry as shirts- paws against the [exag. rabbit-] wire fence, I was heading back to the car rather quickly ;)

If dogs could talk they would say...
"HEY! HEY! hey hey hey hey hey.........hey!":lolgoku:

I was not asking you. :censored: You have to "perceive" certain things when you read. How else would he know so first hand what wet wolf smells like? and say that he does not mind it? He must have been around it more often than just a chance encounter. It was a legitimate question.:2guns: "HEY! HEY! hey hey hey hey hey.........hey!"
