Your gonna need some Prussian blue to check your lap job properly. Be EXTREAMLY sparring with it. A tube will last a full blown rebuild shop for 50 years! Not joking.

Yup I have coarse and fine grinding paste for lapping in the valves and have just finished the job. Both seat nicely in the head as we speak. I took my time with it and gave them a nice finish.

Oh, and where's your breather tube?


Breather tube was out at the time of photo. I just have a pod style filter element on the end of it and have done for the last 2yrs.

Yeah even I'm not sure what it is really, just looking for possibilities and trying as I go. Process of elimination :huh:

I know you say it has good spark, but maybe not when it warms up ? If its a Honda/clone engine I would screw the resistor out of the plastic spark plug boot and clean and reinstall it. It takes a flat head screwdriver. Could also be the coil itself overheating. I've also had the clone engines do this when the plug was to cold of a heat range.
