Bought this from a young man prior to Christmas. It was a mess, he started it and the clutch flew off. I checked and the crank shaft had a broken bolt in it and 1/4 of some stripped in thread, it was toast. He was asking $250. I'd just bought the Z50 earlier that day and really did not want this, but I saw in the house a young baby and mother, it was Christmas and I remember being young and cash poor. I gave him $120 for it. Karma is good.

Fast forward 2 months and this is the result. I have some tuning to do (see my post today GX200 and Mikuni) but overall I'm happy. Lets see how the pictures post below.

The larger front appealed to me too. The original he had was bent and the disc warped so a new one was required. It took a lot to fab up the mounting and get it lined up correctly.

Where to start? ??? I love so many things about that bike.....I like the big front wheel.....but that brake disc is off the hook!!!! And I love the old school gas tank.....hurry up and throw some paint on it!!!!!

Edit: And before you say anything.....go get a sample of Emerald Green Metallic paint.....and hold it up next to that front wheel......then imagine the frame that color and the gas tank to match the wheel......

Paint not for a while, it's winter in colorado - brrrrr. I messed with the original 14" that came with it, ordered the tire, found a CR80 caliper on eBay, fabbed up a bracket - spent a lot of time - and discovered the rim and disc bent. Note: Check things FIRST before spending 20 hours and then starting over, which I did. Lot of effort but worth it. I rode it yesterday for the first time and it's perfect! no rubbing, stops GREAT. Tons of clearance with this set up.

I had to weld standoffs on the little tank. Came with brackets but looked funky. I have some weld cleanup and stuff and a lot of dialing in before final paint probably in April. Going to ride this at night on the Tail of the Dragon in TN.
