110cc barstool racer

looks good, i'm just now starting on a barstool racer. I plan on using the plain barstool design but i'm gonna cut the bar stool in half to keep it lower to the ground and safe because i have a 110 pit bike engine i'm putting on it. I'm using the whole handle bar set up off of the pit bike and the rear disk brake to slow this thing down. It's gonna be a 4 speed with a clutch. I'm not sure what to do with the axle to help it hold up to the power of the motor. Any idea's?

You may want to consider welding some triangle gussets on those load bearing corners for added strength.
It's been my experience that just butt welding tubing like that isn't enough, you'll want that added strength to spread the load and ease the stress on the welds.

when i was little, my dad used to build these alot, and sell em, he had 2 different designs and one he said was pretty much flawless, he still has the plans for em, i wish i would have found this forum faster, and i woulda sent em 2 ya. but yours looks freakin awesome! from talking to my dad about having a high center of gravity and lotsa rear weight, a wheely bar was mandatory. he never let me ride em cause i was too little, and i was really mad as you can believe! i was only about 6-7
