I second that, really watch the tube that the engine is mounted to. Especially where it is welded to the main frame rail. That tubing is way to light for that kart now.

weld in several peices of reinforce ment to handle the power, then maybe some sort of heat-sheild fabric stuff to keep from completely destroying frame

now all u need is somthing the same size to mount on the other side

but seriously u are going to be buring rubber on a gentle start and that is going to need a butt f*** load more support

I think you'll have issues with that much weight mounted off to one side. At the very least when starting off the right side rear tyre will have much more traction than the left.

I think most people doing big bike engined race karts put the engine in the back for good reasons.

*EDIT* Also I hope you have decent front and rear brakes.

OMG... lol

This thing is goin to be fun to ride once you get it done.

Make sure you have really good rear bearings and support the motor plate good.

It will smoke the tires easy, props to you on building it.

What did the motor come off of and what make is it?

I agree, it looks like that chassis is an Offset/Oval-racer type and they're designed to have the seat mounted further over to the left side. If your going to Oval race it you'll want to try and achieve somewhere around a 60% left /40% right side weight bias. If your going to Sprint race (or just play around in parking lots doing both Right and left turns) you'll want to shoot for a 50-50% R/L weight bias.

I'd at least consider re-mounting that engine a bit further inboard to have a better chance of the kart still turning and handling fairly well. The only reason I see for having the engine outboard that far would possibly be if you were installing a super wide XX-large seat for a 275-300lb. rider.

@ dirttrackracer The motor came off a 01 Katana, I wanted to use my Kaw zx12 but that would have been too crazy. I 'm mocking everthing up an seeing how it fit before I go back in with more reinforcement. I'm building it for straight track 8th and quarters and just to play around ,may try circle track but I know she'll suck a little. Didn't want to bulid a long kart , it still needs to fit in the back of my truck. Thanks for the advance please keep them coming, it's only helps better my kart.
