Bought this new couple years ago. Progressively hopped up the motor, ended up with flat top piston, billet rod+ flywheel,
MOD2 cam, milled head, VM22, ratio rockers, ect. After some ATV trails. noticed excessive vibration from the engine, then seen the cracks.
Has anyone else seen this? Thinking of reworking the mounts and 625cc clone or yanmar diesel swap.

Also got me a new heater, best investment ever.

Well that stinks. It has to be that great chineseum moly that it is made from. I check the girls MB200-2 for cracks once in a while and the only one I found so far is the luggage rack on the left side. Welded it up and been fine since.

What's the typical weight gain of a diesel and it's appurtenances (like fuel filter setup) that has an approximate power match to a gasoline engine?

I would say it's quite situational, but approximately 200-400lbs for most truck engines.

The fuel injected 460 (7.5l) weights 720lbs , and puts out 245hp/400ft lbs

The optional 7.3l powerstroke diesel for the truck would weigh in at 920lbs, and produce 210hp/425ft lbs

The main benefit other than coolness is with the gasser in a 4x4 1 ton, 8mpg on a good day.
And booosssst.

Yes yes yes, agin yes, diesel makes everything better
Well, definitely with trucks

a modernish ford 7.3 with some performance work would propel that old thing down the road no problamo
That would do the trick! Not very practical, but id love to get my hands on a 353t detriot diesel

Good luck. In the last 40 years I have only found 2 and they were both blown up and no parts available. I also found 2 371s blown up. Parts for those are even harder to find!

All fixed up, ground the old crap welds down, and welded in a much thicker plate flat on
the frame rails. This should hold up much better.

After a test fit, I concluded the diesel just ain't gonna fit :surrender:

Seems like it's time to slap a 32/28mm big valve head and flatslide carb on the 212 while it's out :2guns:

karl has his ways denny :ROFLMAO:
They are practically unobtainium, probally gonna end up with a 7.3l IDI or powerstroke.

Finally got it all finished and ready to ride, used a billet kart racing 7* mount, that can slide on
the steel tubes welded to c-channel front to back, and slide side to side in the mount.
0 vibration, catch can stays still. Way more solid than factory. Gon be quick, Exhaust valve is bigger than the factory intake.

Also should be joining the Coleman ct-200u club tomorrow, ready for the 224cc.

Now let’s see it out in the snow!
No use, if you try to touch the throttle the tire just spins, have to walk it across the snow.

My new coleman with a bald tire and stock motor is rideable!
Even seen a blue predator 212?

But no comparison to the new and improved track bike, it rips!

Well, I think Ill leave the current motor on it for a bit, but I couldn't help but fix the
loud and high pitch exhaust that was made from the factory exhaust with the muffler cut off,
and chunk of pipe welded on. I used a much better flowing adapter and free flowing baffles,
sounds deeper and good, and a bit quieter. Much more tolerable. Just needs some fresh treads and ill
be ready for the season!

free flowing baffles,
Is that the shiny round thing with a bunch of holes in it? Attaching some pics of the first silencer I made, using 3" car exhaust sections with smaller tubing inside. Also, pics of the initial drawings I made while trying to figure out how to do it. It made a 12hp. Predator 212 on a minibike almost as quiet as a factory muffler, but is almost completely unrestricted.
Note: The baffle tube in the muffler section of drawing wasn't built, was supposed to be a removeable option, didn't need it or the restriction that it would have caused.
The (4) 180 degree switchbacks that bounce the sound back into itself off of the bulkheads is the same principle as noise cancelling headphones, just no electronics. Very fun to create and build, you should try it sometime if you like the muffler mods like you've done. The second one is a rectangular box on a 15+hp. Predator 212 gokart, works exactly the same.

Kool, if I dids that id solid mount the muffler, then find a small flex pipe to isolate the vibration.
I tried to put a factory muffler back on it, but it won't clear. So I threw that thing together,
it's just on a bone stock 2010 predator, early one. This is just a loaner/ beater bike.

I found out I could not get the chain tension right cause the gas tank does not have enough room.

So I done tore the engine down, added duel light coils, removed oil sensor, new gaskets, and drilled/ tapped the block for
a honda snowblower oil drain extension. It clears the motor mount and foot peg tube for clean oil changes.

Also the rear tire was bald, checked around the back of a motorcycle shop and found a maxxis 19x8-8
tire that fits perfect and has a bit of rubber to burn off!
