Minibike Deal... Need Help deciding.

Hey guys, i am looking into this minibike http://providence.craigslist.org/mcy/2556982069.html

I was thinking of asking the guy if he wanted to trade for my red 49cc Cag Daytona pocketbike. It runs all right but after a while since i dont use mixed gas it heats up and gets hard to turn over. So i just let it sit for a while and then its all good.

Is it a good deal? I only payed 50 for my cag... and my brothers afraid of riding it..

Help us to understand. It's a 2 cycle engine and you do not mix oil with the gas?

well i used to and it wouldnt run so i thought i mixed it wrong and drained out the gasoil so then i soaked the carb in lemon juice to clean it. then i put it back together but i only had regular gas to try it with so i used that androde around a lil today with just gas and then the above symptoms would happen... and the bike was supposed to be for my bro but hes afraid to ride it

No, you're killing it quickly.
All engines need oil...not lemon juice.

ok. what should i do now in my situation? Drain out the normal gas and thenn fill it with properly mixed gas and oil and let it run for a while? Or what should i do?............ Please help

If you gave it to me for free, I would never take a straight gassed 2 cycle anything.
Junk it.

just empty the gas and mix it. if it still runs and turns over then theres no reason to trash it.

I guess he thought lubrication was optional.

cant hurt to try

put some striaght oil down the spark plug hole

if it really fails then pull it apart to learn how it works
if u are more than extremely luckly ony the piston will be ****ed then u can fix it

if the cylender is ****ed (it probs is ) then it is junk

ok guys. thanks for the replies... I will do that tomorrow, pour oil in the spark plug hole and let it sit, and then drain the old gas and pour in the mix and if i can get it running ill let it idle on that for a good 10 minutes and if everything looks good ill ride it...

Yeah that must have been a pretty good engine, well on the other hand i wasnt going to fast not more than half throtttle because the chain has a bent link and if your going too fast itll throw the chain...

Why did you run it without oil in the first place?
