This is not going to be the best constructed piece of machinery... but im trying!!! How can i make A throttle for this motor so i can adjust the speed... i need to get a 12v to 110v inverter before i can make it run... I am only 15 so im kinda on a budget. Watch my YouTube vids on it if you want to have updates on the project!!!

A 110V motor. No no no no no. That is HORRIBLY inefficient. Dont do that.

For example: A UPS with a 12V 7Ah battery can charge a cell phone probably 12 or 13 times with the phone on a straight DC-DC connection(with a proper charger). With an inverter, you might get 1 whole charge if you are lucky

Look around you local craigslist. Look for some old RAZOR electric something or other. My E300 scooter goes around 12mph, plenty for a wood kart. They should be cheap and plentiful on CL. Salvage the motor, as the battery is likely dead. You seem to have a decent battery on hand.

It spins fast but is completely useless. You want atleast 500W at minimum, more likely 1000W.

12V * 6A = 72W. That is enough to pull a powerwheels, and no more.

Normal motors for karts are 36-48V @ 20-30A

Yes that will work, though you will need to convert it to a Brushless DC motor. There are videos on youtube about this. Also note you will need a BLDC motor driver, you cant just do positive to positive and negative to negative like with brushed motors. I also think it is impossible to do this if it is a GM onewire alternator.

Why cant i use a 110v motor, will it consume to much battery going from 12 to 110???

The problem isnt the 12 to 110. DC boost circuits have been 80-90% efficient for a while. The problem is the AC-DC conversion. It isnt efficient in the slightest. Go back to my UPS example .13x more energy was usable without DC-AC conversion.

It might work on DC, if it is a universal brushed motor. If it is an induction motor which it likely is, it wont.

No, you just need to buy a proper motor.

bet you can find a used internal combustion engine locally for free or close to it, then really get your project rolling (no pun intended)
