Cleaned up the shop today and it was so nice it deserved pictures. This shop is only 7' x 11', but it's capable of any machine work required for a kart build (or maybe even an aircraft). Lathe, mill, micro drill press, pedestal grinder, a granite surface plate, various measuring instruments, and enough tooling and material to last a lifetime. The tiny shop heats easily with a small oil radiator on "low", even when it's very cold outside. It's not big and impressive, but it is a lot of fun - and paid for.

Alex,

Lathe: 7x14", 3 jaw and 4 jaw chucks, live center tailstock, quick change tool post, tailstock drill chuck, DC variable speed, soon to be fitted with DRO and micrometer stop.
Mill: X2 size, 3 axis DRO, DC variable speed, belt drive conversion, conventional 4" vise, rotary indexing horizontal/vertical table w/3 and 4 jaw chucks, R8 collets to 1/2", drill chuck, LED light ring around spindle, and pneumatic coolant mister.

While these are not production machines, they can be tweaked to do some decent work. I've turned 5"Ø aluminum in the lathe, and decked a VW case on the mill with good accuracy.
