I got this electric air compressor that has a motor on it with a max rpm of 1708 rpm i thinks it's a 3hp motor, now I have this 3.5 briggs engine that I Rebuilt a few months ago. not a 100% shore if it will work or not but can I put the briggs engine on the air compressor to make it more portable ? I now i will have to turn the tank that builts up to 70 psi (not 100% shore if the psi pressure gage is right) to make room for the engine cus the handle is in the way. it also seems to have a air leak at the bottom of the air tank. there is a seal between the tank and the mounting plate. do I need to add a psi over load release vavle ? any thoughts and comments and help would be appreciated. thanks.

You need the (I think it's called) idle air valve. It attaches to the throttle and actuates when the motor needs to be at speed and when at idle, also releasing the air when from the compressor to the tank when the tank is full.

That little thing is the tank? IIWM, the only part of that I'd be using is the pump but, to answer your questions:
-rotating the tank will probably mean replumbing the line from the pump to the tank; that will be made much easier if you rotate the tank opposite to what you have indicated. You'll also need to rotate the outlet 90° or it will hit the engine...
-you will need a relief valve unless you want it to go KABOOM!

U need 4 unloaded valves

They screw into the little holes in the compressor head
Where the spark plugs may go if it were petrol

These push on a reed valve and stop the compressor pushing air

Then go to an industrial type shop and get a d2 governer

It takes tank pressure and uses it to measure pressure as to when to shut off the compressor by sending air pressure to the unloader valves
U will also need a small phenmatic air actuator to pul the engine back to idle

Also operated by the govener
