I'm new to the minibike thing and I am TRYING to get the throttle set up. All of it works fine except for the return. I can't get the throttle to automatically turn back to idle without apply so much spring pressure that the twist throttle is near impossible to turn. Does anyone know why this is and can I can fix it?

EDIT: It may be because the cable is curled up? If that's the reason what do I do with the excess cable? The cable I have is the smallest I could find.

If is long cut it down. Try to have a cable without tight radius bends, I had a problem with this on my bike at first. Also if you can lubricate the twist mechanism and apply some to the cable/sheath.

You might try using a larger brake cable outer jacket.
That's what I use to give the throttle cable more room to move.
