Mini bike questions

Well I've been debating on what to build ... Go cart ate or mini bike and I have a few questions

Can the harbor freight predator engines be used to build a mini bike or atv?

Are mini bikes more difficult to build than an atv or go cart?

If I build a mini bike I want to design it to look like a sport bike sometimes called a " crotch rocket" I plan on making my steering mechanism like how it is on a bike with the foes and handlebars all hooked on through a center hole would this work and would it be difficult to do?

I'm on a budget of 500$ or less would a mini bike modeled after a sport bike on average cost less to build than a go cart?

You could easily build a go kart or mini bike with $500 just take your pick. Most of us building on here have far smaller amounts of money to spend on our projects

Ok thanks also what's a good store to get parts from to build a frame and stuff that's local?
I have a menards lowes and homedepot not to far from my house which is best?

I am not sure which is best for materials, but BMIkarts.com is a good site for other parts.

What is your fabrication ability? If it is good, then go for building your own. If it isnt good, then I suggest searching the internet for a pre fabbed frame.

When I talk about projects like this I say what is you scrounging ability, and you fab skills.
Also a big thing, what kinds of tools do you have (welder, grinders, hand tools, ect.)


If $500 is your budget, a pocket bike might be in store for you. could mod that or go and get something you want for that amount.

Most here have done bikes quads and gokarts for less than $500 and sometimes for much less.

ok thanks also my budget is around 400 but im gonna spend 100 on tools so 300 for the bike right now i have a angle grinder a bench grinder a drill press a corded drill a cordless drill screw drivers and a few wrenchs along with soldering irons impact wrenches and welding equipment

back to my recent question... predators go on sale for 100???!!! how often? what are some good cheap alternative motors?
also for the mini bikes they would be 1/2 or 3/4 scale im 14 and 5,6 so i dont think i need a full size

I picked this up for 100 bucks. Runs great too, I plan on building a chopper and using this in it. You could probably find something similar pretty cheap on local classifieds.
