Hello y'all.

I have a friend. He has a monster moto mini bike, I forgot what cc's it .

So, me and him were riding some of our trails earlier and one of my tires fell off the bead. So we lugged it back to re-seat it. We got it back on and stuff.

When he went to turn his bike on, it started up like usual. After idling for about 7 seconds it made a loud clank sound and cut off. It sounded like the piston was ready to go through the cylinder wall. I took the clutch off and started it. It ran fine as it normally does for like 5 minutes.

We put the clutch back on and tried again, and it did the same thing again. I didn't want to destroy the motor, so I didn't try again.

My friend noticed that the clutch was loose on the motor, and I don't know if that's the problem.

Do anyone think it can be fixed or is the clutch shot?

Let’s see some pictures of the clutch, I bet it’s probabky shot if you were trail riding with it.

950speed is right about the upgrade. You need a new clutch, and that comes built-in to a TC (Torque Converter), which is actually a CVT (Constant Variable Transmission), some call it a TAV (hoo nose whut dat meens), which is just a brand name for a CVT. Ordered mine from ebay, only about 96 to choose from, all different prices. Pay them about $60 for one, instead of $40 for a clutch only. Choose your gear ratio at that time, mine came with both 10 and 12-tooth. If a CVT won't work for you, be sure to order a clutch with strong springs if possible. Stronger the springs, the less it slips on startup.

TAV = Torq-A-Verter, the commercial name for the Comet product.

Kinda like Kleenex, whut duhz dat mean?
