Why do I have a feeling that fan was already sitting on that boat, and all you had to do was take a picture!

Dude you sound like me! before I got into go Karts and actually wanted to learn about small engines. I have threatened a sledgehammer and "set the f'n thing on fire many a times!!!!:roflol::2guns::furious2::horse:
Sorry I still do not know enough to help other than to say walk away and calm down, but I am feeling your frustration.

you think this is any good to spin at about 3600 rpm. its Balanced but just dont know if it will hold up to the rpm's. it's aluminum 1/8 thick 2'' wide 3ft long. got the idea frome some guys that makes them for there giant rc airplanes.

Dude! I love the way your thread just walks away from the Frustrating engine and moves on to propellers and rigging!
I don't think 1/8 aluminum will hold up, It seems to thin and would flex at rpms. Then again centrifugal force. Shrugs.

I'm going to let her rip anyway and see what I got. Thanks chancer. there's these guys that build propellers for these giant 80CC 2stroke engines out at the air range. thought it was cool.

To figure out if it'll hold up to the revs is pretty simple -- just find the centripetal force of the blades and divide it by your cross section at the hub (weakest point in your design). I'd definitely suggest punching the numbers before risking chucking pieces of aluminum through the air at a few hundred miles per hour. Especially thin pieces like that as they have a decent tendency to curve in rather random directions after launch.

The design itself should make okay airflow but it would be fairly inefficient. A simple mod to get better power would be to twist the blades to get a consistent pitch throughout the length. If you want to go crazy an airfoil shaped blade will be much more efficient than a flat one as well.

Those things look awesome! I would love to go bass fishing in one of those, of course I won't catch anything.

Thanks....all the things I was thinking.....somehow....this thread fell through the cracks and I never got back to it.....
