hello everyone,

i was thinking about making a go kart from scratch with my friends and i have in the garage an old mineralli i-51 motor from a sprayer my father and i used in the fields.
My fear is that it won't have enough power to work with someone sitting in the kart and i can't find any specs of it on the internet.

can any of you help me out with any information about the big/small boy i have?

Minarelli, not Mineralli...

anywhoo;
50cc two stroke; can't find the spec sheet either...

Hm, if I had to make a guess it'd be 2.5-3 horses reliable.

it's quick though (seen some similar engines on bicycles) on a go kart I doubt it'd proveide enough power really.

55cc isn't going to be enough for you. I've heard of that size on bikes but a kart weighing 200lbs plus you. You could do it but you'd have very little acceleration let alone top speed.
