I finally ran my engine and I had the 160 jet in the carb for a main jet. It was obviously too lean, as it would bog severely at the upper half of the slide. I put in the 190 jet and its a bit too rich as I fouled a plug...

What jets are you guys running on your engines? I have a 5hp flathead.

Also, do they make Champion plugs for 5 hps with threaded terminal sparkplugs? I have a light up sparkplug boot on my engine now and have to "modify" the plug to fit it into the boot.

You could drill out the 160 to like 175 or something in the middle of the two. Instead of modifying the plugs, why not just modify the boot?

Hmm, I was wondering what jets others were running first. Where can I find a wire drill set?

How would I go about modifying the boot?
