Some time ago I built a Duromax 440. Honda head ported with bigger valves and milled .60. I went to a Honda head cause they use bigger valve stems, 6.5 V 5.5 mm. Cam, billet rod, flywheel, side cover. I used a Mikuni 34 mm round slide. It ran so rich I’d have to change plugs constantly. I figured the 34 mm would be close to correct. I tried all sorts of jetting etc, too rich. Somebody on here said the 34 was too small! Once it was explained to me the engine was creating way too much vacuum and sucking gas out of the bowl I went to a 36 mm round slide and right out of the box it runs great. Plug looks good. Starts really easy. No farts. Only adjustment I made was setting the idle speed. I don’t even know what size jets are in it. I do have to use the enricher (choke) to start it on cold mornings.
So thanks to you forum rats.
Anyone need a slightly used Mikuni 34 mm round slide carb?

BTW this engine is in a 6 passenger golf cart. I can load 5 passengers in with me and the 440 just jugs along real happy like.
