125cc big bore kit in a 50cc GY6 engine? Where'd you get that at? I thought it only went up to 100cc (actually 83cc).

I just put an 80cc (72cc) kit in my gy6 last month and was pretty impressed with it.

He had it advertised for $500 after lowering it from $800 2 weeks ago, he was able to jump start it and drive it and it smoked like a f'n forest fire, there is a mess of oil leaks all over, we negotiated and I took it for $340, got it home in the light and this thing is rough.... yeah, nice speaker wire for battery leads

:wai: I like to know the same thing. Biggest kit I could find is 85cc, without having to bore the block. Yes the 72cc kit really picks up the performance on those 47cc engines, along with a cam and header. To get more performance you need to do some to do some work on the CVT.

I'm really glad you guys feel good about the deal, there's no question I am absolutely cut throat on Craigslist but after having to put my Harley in the back yard because this Yerf Dog won't fit through my back gate and had to take up residence in the car port, and because noticing lies from his ad like "new battery" and the fact the driver side lower A arm is totally DIY and not done well I was feeling low and just wanted to go to bed last night

This kart is exactly what I was looking for to take the kids out on trails all over Arizona, I'll have to admit, all my expertise is on our OHV engines and not motorcycle type engines, I don't know much about oil pumps and I know little about CDI and electrical although I have replaced a CDI on a dirt bike before

I want to tear this whole engine down to inspect and clean it, do you think its necessary to tear the whole engine down? Are there any video links you can post that take someone through this process?

Luckily I am a regular customer of BMI and I saw many parts are available, including that lower A arm

Just to give you a heads up, do some research on the front end of the yerf dogs. I almost bought one like that but it was the grey/blue model. I decided not to after doing some research. Apparently they have some front end issues with ball joints. There have been a lot of posts on this and other msg boards about your model and beefing up the front end so it wont break.

thanks for the heads up, the seller did tell me he just replaced the 4 front end ball joints, whether I believe him or not is a different story but they look new, it may be hard to tell from the front end picture with my buddy that he did weld the front plate (center box) to the front of the frame, and he did weld some 1/2" square tube upright supports between the upper and lower sections of the frame on the front end

I wasn't really trying to work on it tonight but I charged the shi tty battery that came with it and tried to start it- nothing happened, I grabbed a bigger, fully charged battery- nothing again, I then looked at the exposed solenoid (I think that is what it is) and it looked like it had been bridged with a screwdriver or something so I tried that and wahlah, it tried to turn over and almost did, I think those fellas pulled a sleight of hand on us, we were watching the driver "push" the start button while his dad pretended to jump the kart but bridged those terminals

:wai:I have a couple of Buddies that are really into scooters and both of them, tell me that 72cc's is as far as they go on those 49 cc's engines. The reason being, that boring the block to accept 125cc', makes the cly mounting area to thin, therefore making the block acceptable to splitting and the 49cc's crank and rod will not hold the extra cc,s.
