if this piece is indeed missing does anyone have a clear pic of one that i can send the kid i got it from to look for it?

here ya go, http://www.bmikarts.com/item/Driver-Weight-Assembly-453001-6527

And that thing needs some TLC big time. remove the rust. take some sand paper to it. make sure the driven spring still good. and get a new belt here. http://www.bmikarts.com/item/MXT97-Max-Torque-Converter-Belt-Misprinted---203793-7354

remember never lube the clutch. and make sure both the inside and the outside is rust free. don't fr get to also clean any rust off the driven. And your driven probably needs new buttons, but they don't make parts for that model of max-torque. you can send it in and they can fix it for you though.

any more info needed? :D

If you decide to replace the entire driver unit we carry the complete driver. PM me for price.

You've got series 20's in stock still??

Anyway. If your cam buttons are damaged on the driven clutch they actually don't produce that series anymore. Your whole process might be cheaper to purchase an assembly at this part if you price shop online and on ebay you might come up with some great.

Mine was in similar shape. I sand blasted it and get it all cleaned up. It was well worth the elbow grease and effort. I promise you that these are the same piece lol!

Before we plug our business here, let's try to help another karter out and save him some $$$ if possible, here at DIY GK.

Blaz owns a shop of his own as well.

Blaz owns a shop of his own as well.

We mentioned the springs... IF he wants to save money and do it hisself...im all for that..
I offered my help. Up to him which direction he wants to go not ours.
Blaz mentioned "driven clutch they actually don't produce that series anymore."

I realize what blaz posted out of respect to blaz.
But just cause they dont actually produce something does not mean that someone does not carry it.
If I did not carry a hard to find part (as he says the driven clutch is not produced in that series anymore..his words not mine) then why would have I mentioned it as an option before Blaz said anything at all about said part(s) ?
Not hear to get in a debate with anyone. Be helpful however that may be.. With advice...scratching someones back, selling a part, giving away parts...what have you.

alright well im tryin to get the pieces i have cleaned up...

are these the buttons and if so how do they look?

also what series did you think this was a 20 or 30, or did they only have one series when this was made?
and is it safe to take the driven unit apart so i can get inside to sand/wheel it?

You take the newstyle MaxTorque buttons and exaco knife them to fit. The newer style goes over both sides but you really can make the new ones work in the older driven clutches.

remember never lube the clutch.

If you want go have binding steel and excessive wear, go for it. Ill stick to lubing with
anti-seize. My clutches will barely shift without lube.

Lube is fine, it just must be DRY. The Comet buttons won't work. Shop around, you should be able to find a set of 3 MaxTorque buttons for under 15 dollars.

Just go through the list of vendor sites one by one and look through their clutch sections, torque converter section, torque converter parts section.
