Yeah. ...that is pretty cool. ....but like I said in my comment....they could have just put Mel Gibson in a supercharged wheelchair and called it 'Mad Ironside'......why just rip off one ??????

I think it must be; anyone who remembers "the OOOOOOOOOOOLD one" would know:
-Max was never captured by the smokers
-The Interceptor could easily outrun them
-That's not how the interceptor was destroyed...

30 years of movie technology will do that :lolgoku:

Having said that, it's amazing how much of the original is in there...

I can't wait. I might go track down a copy of the original in the next couple of days and re-watch it. I love a dystopian movie. Currently watching "The Leftovers" on HBO Go and it's just stupid.

I'm so excited for this to get released.. I was telling my buddy last year it would be nice to see a new MadMax..

My buddy says when me and my friends pull up to the local bar we look like a ghetto version from a MadMax movie..

2 mini bikes,2 karts and a TTR 90 pulling up to a bar.... and i must admit it does look hilarious ;)

The whole scene where he has chained the last bad guy by his ankle, and hands him a hacksaw, and then lays out the timeline for all the options..... That's what raised #1 above the slasher films of the period.... And gave at least this then young teen a real pause to think moment.......:surrender: :surrender: :surrender:

I agree. I have watched the first few episodes of the Leftvers too, and I don't think I am going to watch anymore.

Maybe not when we arrive.. but on the 6 mile trek home through fields and minimal maintenance roads we tend to play "Get the Thumper (TTR)".. hehehe.. Haven't caught whoever is on it yet.. that thing is quick for a little 90.. when we do.. im sure will make them walk/stagger home..

This real studio interceptor was sniped ONE DAY before George Miller came to buy it back for Fury Road. But the FR interceptor was made from molds pulled off this car...that's in MY driveway!!!

And yes! The blower really turns on and off!

Yeah, I didn't think I got that right, thanks

How the heck did you get an interceptor in the US? And can you explain to me how the blower works; even as a young apprentice mechanic (when I first saw the movies) I thought to myself "how can that work? If you turn the blower off, there goes the induction..."

So the story goes, there were 6 interceptors made for the original movies & 3 were destroyed; the remaining 3 were sold off for a small fortune but, there are DOZENS of replicas, I've even seen one at my local shops...

Apparently this is one of the 3 though it was never used on screen in the movies. It did however tour around promoting the movies and did appear in the Back to the Max documentary. He went to Australia, located and purchased the well documented studio car one day before George Miller came looking for it. Then had it shipped to the US where it came through customs in Portland, OR.

The blower is not "functional" as a super charging device but does come on and off by way of an auxiliary belt from the air conditioning compressor clutch.

They are cool cars in stock firm. Almost a shame to mess them up as clones.
