Hey Guys,
Finally decided to stop lurking and post what I got. I bought this Doodlebug frame on Craigslist last summer as my first real toy- my parents never let me have one, so this was the first thing I did when I bought my own place out in the woods!
Added the prerequisite Predator 212 and hydraulic brakes to match. From 45mph she sure leaves some nice skids! This was too close not to document.
I went with a torque converter and #40 chain for reliability- I take this pretty far off the beaten path and don't need chains popping off on me. I also embedded a neodymium magnet in the sprocket for future speedometer possibilities.
She's got 1,000 lumen LED headlights, and LED tail, brake and turn signal lights.
All controlled from a handy motorcycle switch:
Everything electrical (including electric start and charging system) is routed and fused in this metal box, which also holds spare parts and tools for emergency field repairs.
So that's my bike so far! She tops out at a GPS indicated 45mph. Next steps for me are a tach, speedometer, and front suspension.
