Many of you know that I am the owner of 3D Motorsport- we build manual clutches for small engines.

I recently worked with a customer to adapt the 3D clutch onto a 500cc yamaha sled engine advertised at 80 horsepower/11,500 RPM.

Knowing that this kart is out there and winning races with a clutch that i put my heart and soul into developing is a truly amazing feeling. Seeing this customer rip around the track honestly feels better than any sale could. I guess that's the engineer in me!

Hope you enjoy.

They are testing a 1" version but won't be out for awhile. And don't ask for a price either cause they don't know that either. I've tried times.

That's why I made a torque converter work for me instead and spent double the money almost.

And I could have sworn the mods said no advertising your own stuff on this site also awhile back.

This is a bit of a catch 22 situation, where it is a product that could be very useful, and the OP pushing his goods.

We have allowed Gopowersports to advertise their stuff too (their 40 series kit being one i can remember offhand). I suppose it has come down to the OPS standing on the forum. If they were one post wonders just to advertise their stuff, then we would boot them off, but both downs and GPS have been useful active members for a while (maybe not active posters, but they have been helpful)

You can put the clutch on a standard 3/4" jackshaft with a couple small modifications. A few customers have done so with good results. The 1 inch version will come, its just hard to pinpoint when at this point in time.

What if you used the clutch on a 3/4" jackshaft with a 1" sprocket on the engine.

Yes, thats entirely possible, and what some customers have done. Keep in mind that you would also need to come up with a mount for the clutch cable and a mount for the anti-rotation bracket that is used to hold the actuator stationary. Normally those two items mount off the clutch guard that is mounted directly to the engine.

This was for a motorized bicycle, but i modified an existing jackshaft to fit a 3D clutch for a customer with a sportsman flyer. It turned out well. Video below:

I do hope this works for you guys by the way. I WILL be testing next weekend so i couldnt wait any longer.

It would have been nice for you to reply back with a answer tho instead of me waiting for some kind of reply about when the 1" was gonna be ready. I couldnt even get you guys to answer the phone even.

Could of chucked the engine on a CNC mill and turned it down to 3/4 or done a jackshaft.

It crossed my.mind. But I don't have room to add a jackshaft. And they don't make any other chain size but that little bitty cute #35 thing. And im running a 420 chain. And I'm not turning down a $600 billet steel crank. Sorry it just ain't happening.

We offer #428 sprockets as well which is what is shown in the pictures above.

We have had extensive contact with you in the past over facebook messages and direct messages on this website. We let you know that we would provide you with updates for when and if we would have 1" prototypes available for testing. We never once committed to having you test one of these prototype clutches but that you would be considered.

I apologize for not responding to your latest messages on facebook which were pictures of your project. We get hundreds of emails and calls each month, and while we personally try to connect with each of our customers and get to know them and their projects as much as possible, there simply is only a finite amount of time to do so.
