Running, stock 212 when I bought it. Bent A arm, spindles, dried out tires, brakes for display only. Got it home, ordered parts then stripped it down/painted. Put it all together with a stage 1 212. That version didn’t last long
420 Predator, gov/lops removed, stage 1
40 series torque converter, 420 chain, 60 tooth sprocket. 19x7 front, 20x11 rear. Mid-s hydraulic brake kit from GPS (rear only). Battery box went where it would fit. Mounted throttle linkage so I could use header or stock exhaust. Should have swapped a round axle in. This is the first kart I’ve ever owned.

Was it hard to install the Mid-s hydraulic brake kit from GPS?
If you could send pics of the brake it would help a lot.
Thanks.

1st, the master cyl mount is a little janky. I had many hours and $ into this build and it was basically unusable with no brakes. Hated to cut sheet metal but it was the simplest way. Bought the kit because reviews said it was compatible with GPS aftermarket rotor. 1/8 x 1 angle for master cyl mount, a 1/4 x 1 bolt welded for reservoir, and 1/4 x 1 flat stock welded to swingarm for the caliper mounts (bent to fit). Stock Manco hex axle has rotor welded to axle. I bought new hex axle as I wanted to have flexibility for rotor location and the ability to add a 2nd brake on the passenger side if needed( it wasn’t). No issues so far, mounts are holding up. Won’t lock rear axle but far superior to a mechanical brake.

I really like that frame, and that's from a guy who's seen a bunch of different ones, hard to impress. However, sure would like to see a couple of diagonals welded across behind the seats.
Brakes won't lock it up? Thinking I know why. How many inches diameter is that brake disc? Looks small to me in the pics. Using a 8" solid myself, on a 520 lbs. kart, and I can lock it up even with my cheap ebay Chinese master cylinder and caliper and 84" brake line.

The problem with mine, I believe, was the linkage had wear/slop in so many places proper adjustment was impossible. You could try using a cable (GPS sells a heavy duty for around $20). That’s what I used in the yard kart I built with leftover parts from this build and it works.

It is a 6” disc. There is room to run another on the passenger side if needed. More than adequate for now. Been thinking about adding to frame behind seats and 4/5 point harnesses. What I need to figure out is the front end. It is so light it wants to plow forward into turns. I believe I need to add weight to the front to preload the the suspension and get the tires to bite more.
