i just bought my first Go-Kart (Thanks to watching all of Tman's Videos) and it is missing a few parts, but i am having a really hard time finding out what brakes came with it. All of the brakes i have seen online don't look as if they would fit.
In the Pic below is the mount. is this going to be one of those parts that i will never find?

Welcome to the forum! First thing's first. Can you identify the model of the kart? If not, post a few pictures of it from different angles, and we'll see what we can do.

From what I can tell, that is a 1 seater Manco Dingo. It originally had disc brakes. you can see the rotor on the left, in front of the driven. THe mount for the caliper is there as well.

Check out these manuals, they may help you find the part you are looking for. http://www.gokartsrus.com/manco-285-go-kart-parts-manual-p-4984.html

That engine sitting in the seat, thats an 8hp briggs. If you have any questions or problems with it, ask me or another user named Jamyers, we both have that engine, and I don't see it pop up very often.

my friend told me the exact same thing but i didnt believe him at the time :lolgoku:

:funnypost: A good sense of humour is always a good thing

If I may digress for a minute:
I went to a friends house the other day to use his lathe. I took with me:
-material
-vernier calipers
-tap & die set
When I arrived, I said "I have everything I need except a lathe."
His response "I just happen to have one of them out the back." :lolgoku:

How the heck did you do that? One pic of the back end & you nailed it

Engine placement, the brake set-up, and the metal things wiht the holes in them on the side of the seat (upper corners of the picture), also the front wheels.

I really like the design of the Dingos. A few have popped up in my area but have been too expensive for me to consider atm.

You also have a torque converter on your kart. The driven is on the jackshaft on the frame, and the driver is on the engine itself. I cannot ID it though. It might be a comet 40 series which is quite a robust and expensive item. It is definately not a 20 or 30 series. Could also be a snowmobile clutch.

What do you other guys say??
