Just imagine yourself or a loved one in the driver's seat while the buggy is upside down. If you conclude that your head would be crushed, then you either need a full roll cage and seatbelts to keep you in it, or you need to be able to get out of that seat before your head is crushed.

Ok....soooo...let's break this down...and try to cover all the bases....in one post....

First off...there are going to be the the folks that say : "That thing will fold up like a pretzel as soon as it goes upside down!!!!! Its. not a proper rollcage! "

But....let's look at it realistically...and dissect the real forces and risks involved....

No question: this is one of those "on the fence " situations ; where you could make an argument either way....

But let's try to look at this from a common sense perspective.....

Soooo..first....you want a seatbelt when you have a full rollcage....(to keep you from getting crushed under the rollcage) ....

Sooo....now....(my opinion) ....yes....seatbelt! !!! NO Question! ....and here's why:

First....let's really look a little closer at all the forces involved : as a kart turns over....the majority of the the forces are lateral ....NOT VERTICAL!

So...what does that mean???? It means it doesn't take a lot of strength to redirect that energy in a different direction...and a smooth turn hoop should work just fine
....(kinda like what this has?)

In otherwords, this thing will just roll!!!! ....and a strapped in driver should be safer than an unstrapped one.....(my two cents)....
