got this over 10yrs ago, rode a few times and found the engine was leaking oil from a cracked block, so shelved it....

Now refurbing it to get it rolling again.

Added a harbor freight 6.5 greyhound and relocated the tank.

The pedals look reversed to other manco's I've seen pix of. Old comet clutch/converter - I think I got the wrong size (3/4") belt as it stays engaged at idle - will see to getting the thinner belt. Once I confirmed the engine fit and ran, I tore it back down to weld the 3 busted welds (1 @ seat and 2 on the engine mount tray), sand, then powdercoat. Will need to fab a new seat too, plus find some shiny new hardware to replace the rusted nuts&bolts....

the pedals ARE backwards. i've owned several mancos, they were all the other way around. if you can flip them, you'll have a little more leg room. :)

The Dingo pedals will work both ways. Just flip then around. Nice for smaller drivers and taller as well.

I love how the dingos drive. Manco got it right on them.

Thanks for the input!

Landuse - yup, found that mine is the earlier Cat99 variety, got the belt #s and found a pair on ebay for a tad bit le$$ - they work perfectly....

bighead/mysteryboy28 - I ended up flipping the pedals around if anything just to make it easier for me to make sense of - the restricter plates (not sure proper name) were hand crafted by earlier owner (a lot of crude welding on front) and almost turned this into a rubik's cube until I decided to go with what makes sense.

All painted now and running - will need to add padding to the seats and get matching rear tires, and maybe throw in a floating wheel for a better pavement experience...

padded seat? definitely - right now this rides like having a kid in the back seat with a sledgehammer..... I used those spiked nuts for wood that anchor in the hole, now I can easily take the seat bottom/back off for work. I will be looking for some carpet padding scraps to build up ~3" on padding, then cover with some black vinyl I've got.

My butt hurts just looking at the seat! LOL!!
I've been picking up cushions from couches and chairs that I see on the side of the road for trash pickup. Foam is expensive and these cushions are free!!!

Nice build!

Weekend update:
well, foam from the craft store was just about as expensive as carpet padding from the hardware store, so I went the carpet padding route (more left over to craft other projects with). Roughly 3" layered, covered in black vinyl - sits very well.....

Floor pan - I picked up some rubberized stuff from HomeDepot in the flooring dept used as runner material in hallways etc. I just used 3M spray adhesive on back and on pan, let it get tacky, then stuck together..... seems that the textured back of the runner material did not let it make good contact with the pan (some curling seen up front).... I've got to do some base boards in our kitchen soon and will probably use some base board adhesive when I open it up - applies with a plastic notched trowel, should hold it down well....

JoAnn fabrics - yeah, they keep moving on me. I happened to be in Home Depot for some other materials (I needed some aluminum pcs to fabricate a top-brace for the glass on my cichlid tank) so I grabbed the carpet pad while I was there.....

Put on a pair of matching rear tires (painted the rims silver) with the help of a HF mini tire changer and some starting fluid, then my daughter and I took it out to the greenbelt to give it a quick shakedown....... very happy with the results.
