I have began tearing in to my newly acquired Manco deuce. Have replaced rear shocks, and started doing the front, until I removed the front shocks and found that the trailing arm is completely frozen in place due to rust issues. I was able to get them to move however it required a very large hammer, which is never what I want to happen. Any suggestions on how to get them to free up and pivot properly?

Pb Blaster.
Someone suggested Acetone and Tranny fluid, but I do not know the mixing Ratio... sounds dangerous, well at least very flammable.

50/50 I think was the ratio on ATF and Acetone.

Also, more hammers (light to medium tapping to induce vibrations) and high heat from a blowtorch are your friends. Heat applied in the proper spot can expand a part and break it free while the surrounding parts stay cooler--which is what is desired.

Here's a good illustration on the technique. A guy dismantling a rusty steam locomotive that sat for several decades in the weather. He must've discovered his videos were overly tedious in Part 1 so he did some editing in this one to speed it up. At about 5.5 minutes in he starts again on the rusted nuts:

You better stay inside with your sisters, little Jimmy, it's a dangerous world out there. :D

HA HA HA. After I typed that I realized I was talking to a guy I know nothing about so I added the disclaimer. You never know... some people do not know Acetone is Flammable.

Admirable, of course. But it is not your duty to babysit the foolhardy among us. That's why we have The Darwin Awards. You're upsetting the natural order!... :)

Btw, PB Blaster is flammable too. You make no sense to recommend one product and not the other. Have you taken your Midol today? :worried2:

Better to start your own thread and just ask.
This thread has been dead for 2 months and the OP has not been here since he asked the
Original Question.
