Sorry guys,ive been working late alot.I will def get some details and pics up..thanks for the info so far.but it does have single drive tire and two chains ,one to clutch,the other to axle sprocket,and it has a band brake(that Is useless)

The brake should be working fine, however I've seen this set-up drop keys before and break parts on several different people's karts. If its working right it'll be just as effective as any other brake set-up aside form hydraulic assisted brakes.
