Manco 813 jackshaft repair

After some hard riding, my son tells me that the gokart is broken. For some reason the chain was out of position and the torque converter belt broke. Turns out the chassis plate holding the jackshaft was broken and was no longer straight.

This is my attempt to get the chassis plate out and have it re-welded and a project log to document it.

Here is the part I need to get fixed.

Is repairing to factory specs your aim or are you going for repair and reinforcement?

plate repaired....hopefully the shaft will be straight!

Looks good...
If the bearings were put in after you welded the tube... Then it should be straight.
You can check the perpendicularty to the axis of mounting, with a few wood blocks and a framing square.

If a tad out of axial alignment, you could grind out a bit of the slots to cant it in the direction you wish...

Its all back together and with the replacement of the sprocket...runs great!
