Manco 710E Torque COnverter Issues

I am working on a Manco 710E. I put a new belt on today. The bottom drive part in the diagram marked #1 spins freely on the shaft. I am assuming this is just a broken key... parts list shows 3/16" x 2" long, #2 on the diagram.

Is there anything I need to be aware of before tearing into this thing? It looks like it will come apart in many pieces. Is it spring loaded?

Sounds like you just need to press in a new key to the shaft. I dont think dis-assembly is necessary.

if the old key sheared, how can i just press in a new one?

wont the spring loaded part of the clutch come apart when i remove the nut? Is there a trick?

The nut just holds the clutch on the shaft. A circlip holds it all together.
